ERP Program Recruitment

Effective recruiting is a year-round process, especially when competing for talent with such in-demand skills as those fostered in our ERP Program. Successful organizations are the ones who are regularly on-campus, make a long-term commitment, and take the time to understand where their engagement can be most impactful. 

Strategies to consider for maximizing your campus involvement include:

• Attending the biannual GVSU Career Fair
  Job fairs are a great way to connect with GVSU’s talented undergraduate and graduate students and alumni. Participating in a career fair helps you enhance your campus presence; distribute literature and collect resumes; meet face-to-face with seniors, graduate students and alumni looking for full-time positions; and connect with underclassmen exploring career options and looking for internships. GVSU hosts careers fairs twice per year, typically in October and February.
• Participating in the SAP® Certification Academy
  This is a 10-day, intensive instructor-led training academy offered by SAP Americas, SAP University Alliance Program and GVSU. Students enrolled in the academy attend daily employer-sponsored lunches to learn about employment opportunities and network with interested companies.  Sponsoring a lunch event offers even greater brand awareness and access to well-qualified students.
• Offering Advice During the Seidman ERP Speaker Series
  The series brings corporate executives (typically CIO or equivalent level individuals) and recent graduates to campus to talk with management students about enterprise systems and business processes in the world after college. Networking and refreshments take place after the presentation. This is an invitation only speaking engagement that is great way to connect with GVSU’s talented undergraduate and graduate students and helps you: enhance your campus presence and highlight your organization, distribute literature, and collect resumes.
• Partnering with the Enterprise Systems Student Union (ESSU)
  ESSU was the first student organization at GVSU created specifically for students interested in Enterprise Systems/ERP and is open to all majors. ESSU hosts the Seidman ERP Speakers Series, provides networking opportunities with companies, conducts resume workshops and practice interviews, and provides tutoring to management information systems students. Opportunities to present at meetings or assist with resume reviews/practice interviews are available. • Attending Careers in Management
  Consider attending this short panel presentation focused on exposing students to the different career paths in management (focusing on supply chain, human resources and general management; management of information systems and international business) followed by a networking period where employers have the ability to set up a table to speak informally with students in an informational capacity.  Participating in Careers in Management is a great way to connect with GVSU’s talented undergraduate and graduate students and helps you: enhance your campus presence and highlight your organization, distribute literature, and collect resumes.
